What is Oscillot?

The Oscillot® System was invented by South Australian by filmmaker, Paul Bok, in 2006. Paul noticed an obvious lack of options for cat owners to keep their beloved feline friends safe at home. The only options on the market at the time appeared to be either cages or netting... And let's face it, who wants to turn their yard into a prison! After extensive research and development, the Oscillot® System was born, right here in Australia!

The Oscillot® System consists of a series of four-bladed aluminium paddles, which are mounted along fence lines between end posts containing bearings. When a cat tries to jump and scale the fence, they will place a paw on the paddle, which then spins; the cat cannot get traction and falls safely back to the ground. The Oscillot® System is fast becoming the first choice for cat owners in Australia, and across the world, because there are no wires, no cages and no netting, it is cat friendly, unobtrusive and can turn your fence into a cat proof fence, easily and cost effectively.

The Oscillot® System comprises of two main components, the Paddle and the Dual Knuckle Post Kit. The Paddle, made from high quality aluminium, is professionally powder-coated to ensure strength and durability. The Dual Knuckle Post Kit is made from acetal which is a very durable plastic that is able to withstand weather extremes. All componenets of the Oscillot® System are made in Australia from high quality Australian materials.

Oscillot is most well suited to metal fences; the Stratco Good Neighbour fence is perfect for installation of this system because of its clean lines and the absence of posts and rails. Oscillot can also be installed onto other types of fence including:

Additional cat proofing can be required when installing on some fence types, especially timber. This is due to the 'climbability' aspect, where cats can sink their claws into the timber whilst scaling the fence- giving them the leverage required to scale with enough speed and power to get over the installed Oscillot. Please see some measures you can use to counteract on our Extra Cat Proofing Page.
